Biography
PIETRO ROCA ( alias Piero Roca) was born in Foggia, (Italy), where he lives and works.
He exhibited his first abstracted works in 1970.
He studied scenic design in the Fine Arts School in Rome with the prof. Toti Scialoja.
In 1978 he went back to his native city, began a partnership with the Laboratorio Artivisive in Foggia.
In 1984 he joined in the debate about art and cultural policy of his own city founding the Cultural Association Il Coordinamento per la Comunicazione e le Artivisive.
Since 1985 he travelled for making exihibitions in the central Europe, especially in France, Germany and Spain.
In 1990 he founded in Foggia the cultural association and Roup Ossimori with other artists, this experience had end in the October 1999.
In 2000 he resumed his activity of individual artistic research about the coin / currency. It became an expressive means in many of his works such as paintings, engravings and installations, who were showed in many personal and collective exhibitions.
Since 2010, he started a research about manholes of aqueduct, sewer, etc. They are meant for the artists as a symbol of connection and globalization.
His works are in the following public collections of these buildings: Museo di Villa Croce of Genova, Gabinetto delle Stampe di Bagnocavallo, Museo Civico of Foggia, Galerie Hotel de Ville in Rives (France), Museo dell'Incisione Castello di Paleologi of Acqui Terme, museum Katzigra in Larissa (Greece) and in private collections in Italy, France and Spain.
BIOGRAFIE
Pietro Roca, (auch bekannt als Piero Roca) wurde 1953 in Foggia geboren, wo er lebt und arbeitet. Seine ersten abstrakten Werke hat er 1970 ausgestellt. Er studierte Bühnenbild an der Akademie der Schönen Künste in Rom bei Professor Toti Scialoja. 1978 kehrte er in seine Heimatstadt zurück, wo er eine aktive Zusammenarbeit mit dem Laboratorio Artivisive in Foggia beginnt. Im Jahr 1984 beteiligt er sich an der Debatte über die Kunst- und Kulturpolitik seiner Stadt und bildet dann zusammen mit anderen den Kulturverein „Il Coordinamento per la Comunicazione e le Artivisive“. Seit ´85 unternahm er wiederholt Reisen nach Frankreich, Spanien und Deutschland. Zusammen mit anderen Künstlern bildet er 1990 den Kulturverein Foggias und die Gruppe „Ossimori“, wobei die Erfahrung als eine künstlerische Gruppe im Oktober des selben Jahres abgeschlossen sein wird. 2000 begann er seine künstlerische Forschung an Münzen aufzunehmen. Dieses dient als Mittel für Gemälde, Radierungen und Installationen. Seit 2010 bezieht er seine Forschung auf Kanalschächte und Aquädukte. Diese sind für ihn wie eine Metapher für die Eingänge in die Kommunikation und die Globalisation.

NOTE BIOGRAFICHE Pietro Roca, (detto anche Piero Roca) è nato a Foggia nel 1953, dove vive e lavora. Ispirandosi agli artisti del'900, ha svolto dal '70, fino alla fine degli anni '90, la propria ricerca sull'arte astratta, realizzando moltissimi lavori su carta e su tela; i quali , in seguito, sono stati esposti in mostre personali e collettive in Italia, Francia e Spagna. Si diploma nel '77 , in Scenografia presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, con il prof. Toti Scialoja. Inizia una attiva collaborazione a Foggia: nel ’78, con il Laboratorio Artivisive e nel ’90, costituisce a Foggia, insieme ad altri, l’Associazione Culturale e il “Gruppo “Ossimori”; Nel 2000, inizia l'attività di ricerca artistica sulla moneta, con la quale ha realizzato installazioni e incisioni. Dal 2010, fino ad oggi, con la tecnica del “frottage”, su tela, ha intrapreso la ricerca delle immagini presenti sui tombini : dell'acquedotto, della fogna, ecc. utilizzando le stesse, come metafora degli ingressi della comunicazione e della globalizzazione. Ha organizzato diverse esposizioni personali in Francia, Italia e Spagna. Le sue opere sono presenti nelle seguenti collezioni pubbliche: Il Museo di Villa Croce di Genova, Il Gabinetto delle Stampe di Bagnacavallo, Museo Civico di Foggia, Galerie Hotel de Ville”de Rives . (France), Museo dell’Incisione “Castello dei Paleologi” di Acqui Terme, (Al). Museo, “Katzigra” di Larissa, (Grecia), e inoltre presso collezioni private in Italia, Francia e Spagna.
